Slow Burn, is an extension of my colour chart research. In this painting, I have endeavoured to push the chart format beyond an informative colour-mixing exploration. With the application of traditional glazing techniques, that is, numerous thin layers of the core transparent pigments (Naphthol Red Deep, Pyrrole Orange, Pyrrole Red and Cadmium Orange), the charts have transformed beyond a surface reading.
